Sacraments

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated Sundays after Mass.  First time parents are asked to attend a welcoming session prior to baptism.  Godparents are asked to present a sponsor card.  Please call the parish office as soon as possible after your child’s birth to plan their baptism.

The Sacrament of Marriage – engaged couples should notify the priest at least six months prior to their proposed date.  Couples participate in a preparation program.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick – please call the parish office for visitation of the sick at home, in the hospital, or health care facility.

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) – the official process used by the Church to bring adults into the Catholic faith.

Spiritual Devotions

The Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary is prayed in common before Masses.

The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy is prayed in common Sundays prior to the 8 a.m. Mass.

Eucharistic Adoration is held on Tuesdays each week throughout the year following 9 a.m. Mass until 8 p.m.

Apostolic Life

The Altar and Rosary Society is the women’s organization established in our parish.  All Catholic women are invited to join.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society aids in the charitable works of our parish.

The Knights of Columbus, Pittston Council #372, is a Catholic men’s fraternal benefit society established in our area.  All Catholic men are invited to join.

Holy Redeemer System is our regionalized Catholic school educating children from pre-K through grade 12.  All parish families are encouraged to enroll their children in our schools.

The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) is our parish religious education program for children in public and home schools from grades 1 to 8.  All children not enrolled in Catholic school are required to participate.
